Adult Piano Lessons
While many schools focus on music lessons for kids, we welcome everyone, especially adults who always feel comfortable in our piano school. In fact, more than half of our piano students are adults. Some of them are hobbyists; some others are composers or producers who want to improve their piano skills for work. No matter what your goals and aspirations, we would be delighted to help you achieve them.
I am an adult currently taking piano lessons at Sage Music. So far my experience has been just great . I am learning so much, because my teacher is a very skilled musician, and is very patient with me. I am truly enjoying my classes, and I love the atmosphere at the school. I look forward to going there every Saturday. I recommend this school for anyone looking to take piano lessons.
Piano Lessons For Kids
With many adult students around, our young students are more focused because they see the adults who take their studies seriously, and model their behavior toward the piano. Yet we still maintain a fun and playful environment, which is necessary for kids to feel secure and happy with their music lessons. We know how to teach great piano lessons to children, who we love having around. We also ensure that our teachers are trained to provide lessons that are appropriate for your child’s age and abilities.

Should I take Private Piano Lessons or Group Piano Lessons?
We believe that private piano lessons offer you the best chance for success. Group piano classes may appear to be more affordable, but they do not provide the same value as a private class. Would you prefer to have 100% of your teacher’s attention for 30 minutes, or 10% of their attention for an hour? In most cases our private lessons cost about the same as a longer group class.
Many piano schools in NYC offer group classes because they make more money, but these classes are unable to address your individual needs and goals. So while the price might look nice, the quality of the education is cheap. For these reasons we offer private lessons so that we can focus on you as we strive to be the best piano school of NYC.
We understand these group piano classes do provide benefits, such as the social element. For this reason we make sure to program recitals, events, parties, concerts and ensembles to provide these social opportunities to you. Music is always better in community!
Classical Piano Lessons NYC
Many of our students are interested in learning the music of the past masters of the piano like Brahms, Chopin, Liszt, Beethoven and Mozart. This music requires a high level of focus, precision, and skill. Our faculty, with master’s degrees in piano performance, have performed this music all over the world and gained the experience necessary to help you develop the skills you need to making meaningful and masterful performances of this great repertoire. Many of our students learn this music for fun, while others are preparing for Master’s Degree, College, or competitions like NYSSMA. Whatever your goals, we are happy to help you flourish as a classical pianist.
Popular Piano Lessons NYC
While some students choose the music of the past masters, we also have many students who prefer contemporary and popular music because it speaks to our time. Sometimes we create arrangements of U2, or the Beatles, or Billy Joel, or Coldplay for our students to learn and perform. If you want to play the music of today, you’ll learn a solid technique just like our classical students, but we’ll apply that to helping you play the music that you want to play. So if the contemporary piano is your style, we’d love to help you master it.
