Believe it or not 63.8% of our students are adults
Whether you want to be a professional musician or have had lifelong dreams of playing music, you’ll find yourself in good company at Sage Music.
Our students range from absolute beginners to intermediate players to advanced professionals looking to improve their skills and practice.
No matter what you want to learn, we’ll get you there.

Sometimes we can jump right in with what you want, but other times it takes a little prep work. But we’ll always get you there.
In fact, most of our saxophone students are adult beginners. So you’ll find a welcoming environment with a team that knows how to work with folks just like you.
As an advancing saxophonist, we’ve got the skills to get your saxophone playing to the next level. We’ve worked with beginners and pros, so we know exactly how to get you from one level to the next.
Our students have included cast members of Saturday Night Live, Broadway performers, and producers. We’ve even helped students prepare for graduate degree auditions.
We go above and beyond other programs by developing more advanced skills, practice habits, and learning techniques. You’ll learn more music, in a shorter amount of time, and with greater skill and security.
Develop your child’s skills in a fun and engaging way
Just like you, we want to see your kid have fun, enjoy music, and grow into a capable, successful adult. And we also know you want a program you can trust because you are busy with so many things.
That’s what we’ve designed our Arpeggio® lesson system to do. Systems such as Suzuki, ABRSM, the Royal Conservatory simply provide a sequence of songs to play. But our system is designed to develop your child’s skills, enabling them to play any music they want. That’s real growth, and real learning.
In addition, our system provides you with detailed notes every week so you can stay in touch with your child’s development. Plus your child will have the opportunity to perform every week in our student sharing hour, in our open mics, or in our regular recitals. This gives you results that you and your child can see.
Our saxophone lessons are designed to help your child be their best. We'll teach them all the right things to do, but we'll also teach them to solve problems on their own. We want to help your child become independent, and capable.
Once your kid has learned the fundamentals, it's time to start putting them to use. That's why we offer student sharing hours, ensembles, and other performing opportunities to help them grow as a saxophone player.
Some of our young saxophonists have taken a serious interest in the sax. We've helped our students win auditions into college music programs, charter and magnet schools, and talented programs across the country. And we aim to cultivate a lifelong love of learning.

Most of our students come to us after they have tried lessons somewhere else. They tried video courses or lessons that weren’t personlized for them – like YouTube or TakeLessons. They took saxophone lessons with teachers who were not trained professionals.
And they just didn’t see the results they wanted.
They didn’t get better or ended up frustrated. They paid for videos but still had to teach themselves. They took lessons with someone who showed them what to do, but not how to do it.
And that left them unhappy. Feeling like they wasted time and money. So they looked for a better program.
The good news is that you’ve just found the #1 science backed program, guaranteed to get you results. That’s the Arpeggio® lessons system, designed right here at Sage Music®.
We teach all kinds of saxophone lessons and styles. The following are the most popular. Please reach out if you have a specific request that isn't mentioned below.
We believe that private saxophone lessons with one-on-one instruction provide you with the best chance of success. That's why we invest so much into our teacher training and private lesson program.
Most group classes are not very effective for learning to play the saxophone. However, they do provide some benefits like community, learning ensemble skills, and more. So we offer additional group classes to our private saxophone students so they can develop those skills, too.
The flexible, voice-like tone of the saxophone has made it a prominent jazz instrument since the birth of jazz. At Sage Music, our teachers are here to help you learn to fine tune and control the bright and penetrating sound the saxophone produces, whether you want to play jazz, classical, or popular music on the instrument.
While not as popular at the tenor saxophone, many musicians choose the smaller alto saxophone. Sometimes they choose it for the higher pitches it can produce.
But more often, children start their saxophone lessons on the alto because of its smaller size. It makes it easier to reach the keys, and the smaller size is easier to hold.
Like the alto, many beginners and children prefer the soprano saxophone for its smaller size. But it's not just an instrument you would choose because of its size. It's clear tone is a wonderful sound, and it was common for Coltrane to play it on his albums.
While the saxophone was invented for use in the classical european orchestra, it has found its home in American Jazz.
It’s hard to imagine much jazz without the sound of the sax.
But jazz requires many skills that classical music doesn’t. That’s why Sage Saxophone teachers are trained to teach you those skills. That includes playing by ear, improvisation, jazz theory, and more.
