I wanted to take this opportunity talk about an exciting new project that I am now a part of, and to invite you to what is sure to be a great new music concert in New York City! InnoVox Ensemble’s Debut concert March 10th 2013 at Spectrum is a date not to be missed!
The InnoVox NYC Music Concert debut March 10th 2013
The InnoVox Contemporary Ensemble, a Pierrot-plus-Percussion chamber ensemble that I have recently co-founded, is making its debut on Sunday March 10th 2013 at 730 pm, at Spectrum, 121 Ludlow street, New York, New York. Formed and based in New York City, InnoVox has a unique, progressive approach to cultivating a strong new music environment, built around audience engagement and new music appreciation. They have pioneered the works of composers such as David Schober and Jennifer Higdon, and have worked alongside some of New York City’s most exciting artists and performers. Forthcoming concert engagements include dates at The Secret Theatre, Spectrum, The New York City Electroacoustic Music Festival, and the Aaron Copland School of Music, where InnoVox will premiere works by the Queens College New Music Group. The group consists of some of New York’s most virtuosic and exciting contemporary/classical players: Monika Haar-Piano, Lauren Wuerth-Flute, Blanca Cecilia Gonzalez-Violin, David Valbuena-Clarinet, Joe Tucker-Percussion, and Andrew Borkowski-Cello.
The evening will include the premiere of a brand new, never-heard-before piece by the composer Luke Schwartz of the Quiet City New Music Collective. Also on the program will be a piece entitled “Variations” by David Schober (formerly of Eighth Blackbird), and Jennifer Higdon’s “Zaka,” as well as other pieces by Phillip Glass and Olivier Messiaen.
The InnoVox Contemporary Ensemble is changing the way audiences experience and appreciate new music, and is collaborating with some of New York City’s most exciting and emerging composers and artists. Keep up with us on our Facebook page and check out our website or drop us a line if you’d like to learn more about what we’re all about!
Innovox was co-founded by Andrew Borkowski, cello teacher and chamber music coach at Sage Music.
