Introduction to Improvisation
Have you ever just wanted to pick up your instrument and play by ear? Do you want to be able to play music with others? If so, this may just be the class for you. Learning to improvise will help you become a more confident musician. You will learn to make music expressively, from the heart, no matter what your skill level.
In this class you will learn:
- How to create beautiful musical shapes
- How to transpose melodies by ear
- Basic music theory
- The language of improvistion
- Improvise with others in the class
Introduction to Improvisation is open to intermediate and above players who are new to improvising. Beginners are taken by Instructor approval. Please contact us if you have any questions. The class will meet for one hour every week, for 12 weeks. All instruments are accepted, including piano, saxophone, clarinet, flute, guitar, violin, cello, bass, trumpet, horn, drums and more.
