Harp Teacher NYC
Tomina Parvanova serves as a harp teacher at Sage Music. A native of Sofia, Bulgaria, she has performed with a myriad of major orchestras and ensembles throughout her career. Tomina has won numerous awards and honors including first prize at the Bulgarian International Harp Competition, second prize of the USA International Music Competition, and was chosen to perform on the 9th World Harp Congress. Additional accolades include second prize at the National Music Academy Competition in Bulgaria and third prize at the International Festival of Music.
Aside from teaching harp lessons at Sage Music in vibrant NYC, Tomina is the principal harpist with the New York Repertory Orchestra, performs frequently with Albany Symphony Orchestra and Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra.
Tomina earned her bachelor’s degree in music, with a concentration in harp performance from the Boston Conservatory. While there, she was a winner of the Music Honors Competition and a soloist in the Wind Ensemble. Awarded a full tuition scholarship at Boston University College of Fine Arts, Tomina completed her master’s degree in harp performance.

With such a strong background, plus the support that Sage Music offers, Tomina offers students a rich learning experience at our school.
